Power source added to cobot welding system for simplified automation

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC has announced that the Copilot collaborative robotic welding system now features the new Auto Deltaweld as its welding power source.

The power source accommodates both single-phase and three-phase input, and its design focuses the user interface on the machine’s teach pendant to help make the welding system intuitive and accessible to welders of all skill levels. The Modbus TCP communications protocol eliminates extra hardware and code between the power source and cobot arm controller, which helps mitigate software bugs and the need to troubleshoot errors.

The collaborative robotic welding system features AccuGuide positioning control with a joystick for fine-tuning the torch position during programming, as well as an IntelliSet weld settings assistant that recommends settings based on material, process, and joint type.
